Hi, I’m Ayesha.
Believe it or not, before I started working in politics, as an adviser to Ed Miliband and Harriet Harman, I was a stand-up comedian. So the bright sparks at Policy Network asked me to put together a fresh way to look at the big challenges we face as progressives.
During Thursday’s ‘night owl’ session at #PGC16, we’ll be searching for a new ‘killer idea’ for progressives.
Politicians are often accused of making their ideas too complicated to capture voters’ imagination. That’s why we’ve decided to keep things simple.
All delegates were asked to pitch a ‘killer’ idea with the potential to turn an often sceptical electorate on to progressive parties. From the wide array of entries we received, a shortlist has been drawn up and the top contenders will present their ideas in Stockholm.
In true reality TV style – think ‘Progressives Got Talent’ – our panel of judges will have their say. There will then be a fun but frank debate before we ask delegates in the room to cast their ballots for their favourite pitch.
If you’re not able to join us in Stockholm, don’t worry! The pitches will be posted here and you can cast your vote online:
